Description
GOLE. (Attributed to). SPECTACULAR LOUIS XIV CABINET, entirely in marquetry of native woods, stained woods and bone, depicting birds on antique-style vases and floral garlands. It opens in the centre via two doors, revealing a chequered interior, a mirrored back panel, small drawers and secret compartments, framed by numerous drawers all round, with two bronze birds on the side panels. The sides are inlaid with floral vases set within frames of laurel garlands and oak leaves. The column-style base (at the rear) features, at its centre, a large relief depicting Leda and the Swan.
