FERRIERE LA PETITE. RARE trompe l’œil terrine depicting a hen, her chicks and eggs, in fine earthenware with polychrome decoration. With its attached tray and lid. (Slight chipping and 1 crack beneath the dish). 19th century. H. 26, L. 39, D. 33. This iconic piece is attributed to Pierre GOSSUIN (1838–1863). Similar examples are held in the museums of VALENCIENNES and SAINT-OMER.
