Description
LOUIS XIV EXCHANGE DESK with a stepped top in olive, plum and native wood veneers, decorated with marquetry depicting bouquets of flowers, leafy garlands, interlaced patterns and vases of flowers against a chequered background. It features four drawers flanking a central door and four secret drawers in the lower section. It stands on its original base with eight twisted column-like legs ending in finials, joined by an H-shaped crossbar. The top is a beautifully inlaid drop-down panel. Made in the Toulouse region around 1700. 18th century. W 114 D 64 H 82.
