Ignacio Fleta (Huesca, 1897 - Barcelona, 1977) Classical guitar made of Rio rosewood. 1941. Inside, it still has the original label reading "Igancio Fleta Barcelona. Construido el año 1941" (Igancio Fleta Barcelona. Built in 1941) with the handwritten note “No. 34.” The neck is made of cedar, the fingerboard of ebony, the guitar’s top of spruce, the sides and back of Rio rosewood, and the headstock and bridge of Rio rosewood. Attached is a report by the luthier Tomoyuki Furuta assessing the condition of the guitar, dated 12 September 2026. Ignacio Fleta was an important Spanish luthier. The world of guitars received much of his legacy, although he initially devoted himself, together with his brothers, to the construction of bowed string instruments. As stated by the Casa Sors Guitars museum, “his instruments, made in a highly personal style, are based on the Italian school, very finely crafted, with a higher arching of the soundboard and an elliptical-shaped scroll on the head. His guitars evolved into an entirely personal product which, in his later years, he made almost exclusively from cedar wood.” Reference bibliography: - Casa Sors Guitars. (n.d.).
