Description
Gilded copper cross with silver cabochons and glass paste. 15th century. Polylobed base. The central knot is magnificently adorned with 8 silver cabochons featuring the engraved silhouette of a four-petaled flower covered with green and blue glass paste (with some missing pieces). The upper part is topped by a plain Latin cross with a circular silver medallion on each side. Inscription on the base: “IS68” and the initials “L.B.” engraved, corresponding to the goldsmith or the owner. 19 x 14 cm. This lot has been imported, therefore its exportation permit from the Spanish Ministry of Culture is guaranteed and is exempt from spanish culture export duties.
