The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a piece very similar to ours, carved with flowers and birds, with the inventory number 21.175.137 (https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/61974) 11 x 10 x 5,2 cm. Provenance: - Collection of a hôtel particulier in Paris, belonging to a family of the French high aristocracy. A collection assembled between 1883 and 1976. - By descent to the present owner.
