Description
Duesenberg, Hollowbody electric guitar, Alliance Series – Joe Walsh, 2017, Germany, Gold-Burst finish, serial number 172770, with original case and strap, certificate and manufacturer’s documentation A collection of electric guitars, spanning rock and its legends At our September 2026 auctions, we will be presenting an exceptional collection of electric guitars, celebrating powerful rock, its roots, its sounds and its legends. It captures the spirit of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Duane Allman and Derek Trucks, as well as that of Iggy Pop, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Free, Grand Funk Railroad and Joe Walsh. Whether they are sixty or thirty years old, each of these guitars has its own voice and character. They possess that rare ability to bring a song to life from the very first chords, sometimes even at first sight. All have been carefully maintained over the years and all have been played on stage. They have thus undergone the only true baptism that matters for an instrument: that of the audience. Comparing a 1968 Firebird III to a Joe Walsh Les Paul, a Gretsch Tennessee Rose or three SGs separated by forty years would make little sense. Yet this collection, both iconoclastic and coherent, is the result of a passionate exploration of the sounds, styles and trends that have shaped the last half-century, with the 1970s as its high point. What we are offering you is a veritable mosaic of this history of rock. These guitars are far more than mere objects. They embody a history, memories and wonderful journeys. If we are proud to present them today, it is above all so that a true enthusiast might rediscover them, play them, discover — or confirm — a calling through them, and, above all, take immense pleasure in bringing them back to life. These are instruments that send shivers down your spine, fuel inspiration and command respect. So, give them a go. They’ll repay you a hundredfold.
