Located successively at 33 St James's Street and 66 Jermyn Street in London, the company specialised in travel boxes, toiletries and luxury accessories for aristocratic and royal customers. Renowned for the quality of its cabinet-making and its technical innovations, the company created boxes in coromandel, Macassar ebony or mahogany, decorated with crystal, silver and ingeniously designed compartments. The company exhibited at the International Exhibition in London in 1862 and in Paris in 1878. Jenner & Knewstub obtained several royal commissions, notably from Queen Victoria and the Russian imperial family. Today, the words "Makers to the Queen" are an important element of authentication.
