URFER Paul (1916–2000) & Manufacture Bretonne de Faïence Artistique de Pornic – A large earthenware dish with a feminine design, the scalloped rim accented with a blue and orange border. Signed and dated on the base: M.B.F.A. Pornic, Paul Urfer, November 1948 – the year of his arrival at the Pornic factory – accompanied by a symbol depicting a boat viewed from the bow. Length: 46.5 cm. (A small chip on the reverse)
Note: Paul Urfer joined the Manufacture Bretonne de Faïence Artistique de Pornic in 1948, with which he maintained an ongoing collaboration. He was named Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1972.
