Enclosed are two red chalk DRAWINGS in the style of Watteau, depicting studies of female heads.
Height 22.5 cm – Width 14.5 cm and Height 22.5 cm – Width 15.5 cm
Born in Versailles in 1819, Auguste Péquégnot was a draughtsman, painter and engraver. A pupil of Cicéri and a drawing teacher at the École Commerciale, he published workbooks on perspective and anatomy applied to art, produced ornamental engravings, and engraved views of Paris and Montfaucon using pencil-style and etching techniques.
