ARMAND MANAGO GUÉRIN (1913–1983). Horse-drawn carriage in front of a green lawn Hardboard panel Signed lower left: A. M. Guerin Bears a label on the reverse: A. M. Guerin/no. 662. Horse-drawn carriage in front of a green lawn. Unframed Height 73 cm – Width 92.5 cm Armand Manago was the son of the painter Vincent Manago. He enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts in Douai at the age of 14, then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he studied under Jean-Pierre Laurens until 1939. During the war, he was rounded up in a raid in 1944 and sent to Buchenwald concentration camp and to his ‘kommando’ at the Stassfurt salt mines. There, every day, he would recreate a view of Paris in his imagination. The lot is to be collected from the studio at 8 rue Rossini, Paris 9th arrondissement, from 17 July 2026 at 3.00 pm.
