In 1919, August Bucherer founded the Bucherer wooden toy factory in Amriswil. He filed patents for articulated metal figurines and puppets in 1921; these were exhibited at the Leipzig Fair in 1922. Until 1925, these figurines sold well, particularly in the United States. Following this, production of wooden toys was relaunched in 1927, notably including accessories for these figurines. The company faced difficulties during the 1929 crisis. Production of the figurines ceased in 1932 and sales in 1935.
The lot is available for collection from the office at 8 Rue Rossini, Paris 9th arrondissement, from 17 July 2026 at 3.00 pm.
