MAS Mle 1936-39 or CR 39 manual repeating rifle. The metal fittings are in very good condition. Metal folding stock, 90% original colour. Nice wooden barrel. MAS markings Mle 1936-39, number M94201. Breech made mobile by neutralisation +. Nice tan leather sling. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. In order to equip mountain troops (scout-skiers) and airborne troops (air infantry) with a suitable weapon, it was decided just before the Second World War to modify the MAS 36. The engineers added a folding stock made of light alloy to the MAS 36. Thus was "born" the MAS 36 CR 39, which arrived too late to take part en masse in the fighting of May-June 1940, but would equip our troops after the war, particularly in Indochina.
