MORBIHAN (56) - "La TRAPPE de THYMADEUC (TIMADEUC), L'abbaye Notre-Dame de Timadeuc". 19th century. Original Sketch (probably by Félix Benoist) in graphite on fine wove paper. Situated "La TRAPPE de THYMADEUC (Morbihan)" in pencil lower left. Provenance: Fonds of the Charpentier workshop run by Pierre-Henri (1788-1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806-1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). Trappe de Timadeuc is the brand name of a French industrial cheese made from cow's milk. It is made in the Triballat Noyal factories and matured on the premises of the monastic community of the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Timadeuc in Morbihan, which owns the trademark. 23.3 x 31.5 cm. A condition (tiny needle hole in the corners, good condition).
