Charles MERYON (1821 - 1868) - "Tourelle de la Rue de la Tixéranderie". 1852. Original etching. Ref: Delteil, n°29 (ii/iii). Schneiderman, n°24 (ii/v). Signed with the artist's initials in the plate. Proof of the 2nd state out of 5, before the letter and before some work in the shading, and with the artist's initials in the upper right-hand corner, on beige wove paper. Coated on verso with the collector's marks of Dr. S. William Pelletier (Kankakee 1924 † Athens 2004), chemist, Athens (Georgia) (Lugt 4193) and Dr. G. EISSLER (1862†1924), Vienna (Lugt 805b). A third unidentified collector's mark on verso. Annotated "Meryon" in grey pencil in lower margin. Small margins. 24.5 x 13.2 cm in copper. 25.4 x 13.5 cm per sheet. Condition A (a tiny short tear in the lower right margin, small sticker remnants on the reverse, good condition).
