MARINE - LEDUC - LE SOLFERINO, French Navy battleship with spur. 19th century. Original lithograph in colours by Charles LEDUC (1831-1911). Signed in the plate. Proof on wove paper, printed by Becquet and published by F. Sinnett, in Paris. Margins. The Solférino is a Magenta class battleship built at the Lorient arsenal between 1859 and 1861. She was named in honour of the Battle of Solferino on 24 June 1859 during the Italian Campaign. 33 x 49 cm. A/B condition (very few small scattered stains, small traces of old mounting on reverse).
