LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE (44) - NANTES- "General view of the Port, taken from the Belvedere of the Customs House". 19th century. Original Sketch by Félix Benoist (1818-1896) in graphite on grey wove paper. PREPARATORY DRAWING for the lithograph entitled "Nantes - Vue générale du Port, prise du Belvédère de la Caserne des Douaniers", for the album "NANTES ET LA LOIRE-INFERIEURE" published in 1865 by Charpentier. Provenance: Fonds of the Charpentier workshop run by Pierre-Henri (1788-1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806-1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 31 x 45.5 cm. Condition B/C (missing at the foot, a few tears at the edges and traces of folds, a few spots of sunstain).
