Charles MERYON (1821 - 1868) - "The arch of the Pont Notre-Dame". 1853. Original etching. Ref: Delteil, n°25 (iii/vi). Schneiderman, n°28 (iv/vii). Proof of the 4th state of 7, with Meryon's name, address and date (before the latter erased and the CM monogram added), on laid paper. Titled "Une arche du pont Notre-Dame" in brown handwritten ink in the lower margin. Margins. A fine impression. This etching is the first piece Meryon executed for the "Vues de Paris" suite. 15 x 19.3 cm the copperplate. 19,2 x 24 cm the sheet.
