2 Ilwoon Kuba and Konda/Ngombe short swords, flared iron blades with incised geometric and animal designs, wooden handles, one sheathed in wire and the other with a large curved circular pommel, DRC, h. 60 and 70 cm (with bases) Provenance for the Kuba sword: Galerie Africana, Zürich, proof of purchase dated 31.01.06 Certificate for the Konda sword: Galerie Archaïa, Lyon, dated 20.12.2005 Lucien Dällenbach Collection (1940-2025) Good condition Traces of wear. Beautiful shiny black patina (slightly reddish) on the bare wooden handle. The filling materials that ensure the solidity of the assembly at the base of the blade and pommel are disintegrating. Provenance (additional) of the Konda sword according to the indications of the former owner (reported for information only, with no supporting documents to attest it): bought from Galerie Archaïa, Lyon, mid/late 1990s (before the certificate was issued).
