Vic Gentils (1919-1997), Jeu d'échec (Chess game), 1966-67, playable work in patinated gilt bronze with black pieces. With its game table on castors with patinated metal base (72.5 x 72.5 x 56 cm), certificate from Galerie Krugier &, Cie in Geneva dated 1968. Height of the highest piece: 27.5 cm.
One of the black pieces is slightly unstable
The table top should be considered as in need of restoration. Although complete, all the brass squares are detached and (in the case of the black squares) have significant paint losses. The white ones need cleaning.
