Thurneysen, 1780. 8° bound in full blond shagreened calf, smooth spine decorated and gilt, double gilt roulette framing the boards including one in Greek style, gilt roulette inside, gilt edges. Binding signed Bozerian. XVI, 392 pp. With frontispiece portrait. First edition of the translation by M. de La Veaux, illustrated on the frontispiece with a portrait of Erasmus and numerous in-text figures engraved after original drawings by Hans Holbein. A fine copy on Holland paper with large margins, clean.
