Paris, Didot l'aîné, 1784. 2 vol. in-8° bound in full garnet morocco, smooth spines decorated with a gilt Greek frieze, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, gilt roulette at the edges and double int. roulette, one of which is decorated with a fleur-de-lys, gilt edges. Binding attributable to Derome le jeune. Vol.1: [6] ff, 453 pp, Vol.2: [2] ff, 438 pp, [1] f. Collection pour l'éducation de M. le Dauphin printed by Didot l'aîné in an edition of only 350 copies on Annonay vellum. A charming copy despite slightly faded spines and a browned copybook. Very good condition in spite of insolate spines and a browned quire in vl.2 Binding : Spines sunned Minor scuffing to boards Inside pages : Book 24 of vol.2 browned (because washed) Some other pages a little oxidised Few tiny spots
