BARBEY D'AUREVILLY (Jules-Amédée) . La Bague d'Annibal. Paris, Duprey, [Caen, Imp. de F. Poisson], 1843. In-16 bound in green half-maroquin, smooth spine, cover preserved (Period binding). Rare first edition printed in an edition of 150 copies only, this being 1 of 25 on Hollande. Complete with the printed dedication "To my friend G.-S. Trébutien, assistant curator of the Caen library", dated 18 April 1843, included in the unnumbered introductory pages of the collation. A very fine copy. Very good condition Binding: Good condition Green half morocco, double cold-stamped fillet, and marbled paper covered boards Corners, headpieces and spines in good condition Slight soiling of edges Inside pages: The yellow cover is preserved without the spine: it is in average condition, with some edgewear and several spots. All the pages are very clean, except for pp.97 to 103, which are marked by fairly extensive circular oxidation in the margins.
