STEINBECK (John). East of Eden. New York, The Viking Press, 1952. In-8° bound in the publisher's green full cloth, smooth spine with gilt title, in slipcase. First edition in its Deluxe Edition limited to 1500 copies and signed by John Steinbeck in the justification. Considered by the author to be his major work, this novel was adapted for the screen in 1955 by Elia Kazan, starring James Dean.
