Description
A set of two exchanger’s scales, made of wood, with their respective weights. One inscribed with ‘Laurens Grosset, rue des 4 chapaux, Lyon, by royal licence’, with six brass weights bearing the master’s mark LG of Laurens Grosset (1671–1724) and three very fine unmarked weights. He was active between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The second set features six brass weights and eight very fine weights. Two sets of unmarked brass weights are included.
