In-12, comprising 4, 6, second title page, 144 pp. in havana-coloured sheepskin, spine with 5 raised bands, front cover in havana-coloured morocco, speckled edges. (Contemporary binding). A rare compendium of osteology. The title pages of the first part, ‘Examination of the bones forming the skull’, and of the third part, ‘Description of the bony parts constituting the trunk proper’, which are unpaginated, indicate 1729, however, the approvals are indeed dated 1737 and 1738. Water-stain on the first and last quires; modest binding; split spines; worn corners.
