Marbled fawn sheepskin, spine with 5 raised bands and floral decoration, blind-stamped fillet on the covers, gilt roulette on the edges, marbled edges. (Contemporary binding). First edition, uncommon. The author was the personal physician to Emperor CHARLES VII, Director-General of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ingolstadt and a member of the ‘Leopoldina’ Academy of Sciences.
