[DUPONT de NEMOURS (Pierre-Samuel)]. Act concerning the Address to the French People on Public Levies. Issued in Paris, 28 July 1791. Le Puy, Société Typographique, 1791. 8vo, 29 pp. Large fold-out table, half-titled. Sewn. An important Act which DUPONT de NEMOURS had put to the vote on the evening of 24 June 1791. It contains some very interesting information on the comparative burden of taxation under the Ancien Régime and the regime inaugurated by the Constituent Assembly, a comparison which, naturally, favours the new regime. The fold-out table was signed by the members of the ‘Committees on Public Contributions’, among whom was DUPONT de NEMOURS. The cover is stained and bears various calculations and entries in ink.
