Description
A Louis XVI-period wall sconce, in chiselled and gilded bronze, topped with an urn and bordered by cascading drapery and pine cones, the sides bordered with cascading garlands and Greek-style consoles adorned with ram’s heads and a pomegranate at the base. The white enamel dial features Roman and Arabic numerals and is signed ‘Lefaucheur’, clockmaker to the King H. 83 cm Alexandre Lefaucheur was granted a master’s licence in Paris in 1729.
