Description
Jacques Le Chevallier (1896–1987) & Robert Koechlin (1888–1972) Reading lamp no. 43, circa 1928. Made of aluminium, ebonite and blackened wood, with an adjustable reflector bearing the designers’ mark and the model name on the back. Bibliography: > Paul Nadai, “Boutiques en France” in *L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui*, No. 3, April 1933, model reproduced on p. 26 > Jean-François Archieri, Jacques Le Chevallier 1896–1987, *La lumière moderne*, Éd. Gourcuff Gradenigo, 2007, model referenced and reproduced on pp. 81, 86 and 87. Exhibited at the 21st Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1928, as well as at the D.I.M. department store in 1929, this lamp design was selected by Robert Mallet-Stevens for the interior design of jeweller Delza’s shop.
