Colombia, Venezuela, French Guiana, Suriname Important coin album > 54 coins from French Guiana from 1848 to 1989, including 15 silver coins (finenesses 300‰, 500‰, 666‰, 668‰ and 900‰) > 34 coins from Venezuela from 1912 to 1989, including 15 silver coins (fineness 835‰, 900‰) > 16 coins from French Guiana from 1789 to 1979, including 5 silver coins (fineness 500‰, 925‰) > 12 coins from Suriname from 1943 to 1987 > 1 coin from the Essequibo-Demerara Islands, 1813 The Colombian section brings together a representative collection of national coinage, ranging from the issues of New Granada to the modern republic. Notable items include several silver coins from the 19th and 20th centuries, amongst which are the 1 and 2 reales of New Granada (1848–1858), the 50 centavos from 1922 and 1933, as well as various issues of 10, 20 and 50 centavos and 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 pesos from the 20th century. Venezuela is represented by a comprehensive series of sub-units and high-denomination coins, including in particular several silver examples of 1, 2 and 5 bolivares dated from 1924 to 1967, as well as various issues of 5, 12½, 25 and 50 centimos from 1945 to 1978. This collection provides a comprehensive overview of 20th-century Venezuelan coinage. The album is complemented by a smaller group of coins from the Guianas, comprising colonial and national issues from Guyana, Suriname, Essequibo and Demerara, as well as a few coins from Cayenne and French Guiana dating from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
