MEMORIES OF THE IMPERIAL PRINCE (1856-1879) LAFON DE CAMARSAC "The Imperial Prince in infantry second lieutenant's uniform. Oval photograph on porcelain, annotated in pen on the back "Lafon de Camarsac 3 rue de la Paix. Cliché Lejeune." Bronze display frame decorated with oak leaves and laurel, surmounted by imperial attributes, the crown, sceptre and hand of justice. 10 x 6 cm. Photograph: 44 x 39 mm. A.B.E. Second Empire period. Circa 1867-1870. Biographies: Pierre Michel Lafon de Camarsac (1821-1905) As early as 1855, Lafon de Camarsac introduced a technique for enamelling and enhancing photographs. A member of the "Société Française de Photographie" in 1863, he set up his studio on rue de la Paix in 1866, where he produced numerous portraits of Second Empire personalities.
