BRUAT Armand Joseph (1796-1855), admiral of France. Reunion of a L.A.S. of thanks to an admiral and 3 L.A.S. to senior officers or generals concerning the ships of the Black Sea fleet during the Crimean War. Toulon, 9 August 1848 on board the Montebello, 6 17 January and 24 February 1855. 4 ff. in-4. of which one on the letterhead of the maritime prefecture of Toulon and another of the Black Sea squadron. Jointly 2 L.A.S. from his widow, Caroline-Félicie Peytavin (1821-1889), then governess to the Prince Imperial. The first to an admiral to congratulate him on his appointment as senator (Paris, 20 June 1856. 2 pp. on an in-8 mourning bifeuillet with his cipher); the second to inform of an audience granted by the Empress (Palais des Tuileries, 27 May 1859. 2 pp. on an in-8 bifeuillet on the letterhead of the House of the Emperor.
