Description
ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOUR (1802) – SECOND RESTORATION (1815–1830) - OFFICER’S STAR, in chiselled gold and enamel, hallmarked with a ram’s head, gross weight: 25.7 grams, 64 x 41 mm, obverse bearing the effigy of Henry IV (head turned to the right) on a radiating background inscribed ‘HENRY IV KING OF FRANCE AND NAVARRE’, reverse featuring three fleurs-de-lis on a lined background and the inscription ‘HONOUR AND COUNTRY’, ornate foliage, a crown surmounted by a fleur-de-lis, a fluted ring, chips in the white enamel of the branches and the blue enamel of the centres, restorations, a Type III Republic ribbon with a rosette at the back, EM/ABE.
