Beautiful Orientalist carved wooden frame embellished with gilded stars.
(Small dents and tears).

NOTE
Quartermaster General Joseph Emile Georges BLANCHENAY (1850–1925) was appointed Military Quartermaster in 1905, then Quartermaster General in 1912. He held the posts of Director of Quartermaster Services for the 2nd Army Corps, then Director of Quartermaster Services for the Oran Division (Algeria), then Director of Quartermaster Services for the 19th Army Corps, then at the disposal of the French Resident-General in Morocco, then Director-General of Military Administration in Morocco, then Director of the Quartermaster Service of the 10th Army, then at the disposal of the Minister of War, and finally Director of Quartermaster Services for North Africa. He was placed in the reserve section in 1915.
He was a Commander of the Legion of Honour.
