BIBLIOGRAPHY
This curious Kashmiri tea set is based on the shape of the "kangri", a wicker container covered in clay used by the Kashmiris to hold hot embers, or the "kang", a terracotta vessel used in China to collect rainwater. It is decorated with “boteh” motifs found on Kashmiri shawls in a style distinctive to this region. A similar set is illustrated in Wynyard R T Wilkinson’s book, Indian Silver 1858–1947, 1999, fig. 174, p. 109. Two salt cellars of a similar shape are illustrated in fig. 175, p. 110.
