Description
OTTOMAN SILVER MIRROR circular with scalloped edges, repoussé decoration, missing its glass with trophy decoration, tughra from the reign of Mahmud II (r. 1808–1839) and ‘chechné’ zigzag mark; Accompanied by a mirror of the same shape, with glass, decorated with six shield-shaped medallions and a border of scrolls and flowers, and two suspension rings. Apocryphal tughra and sah hallmarks. Turkey, first half of the 19th and 20th centuries. TWO SILVER MIRRORS, TURKEY, 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES. DIAM. 26 CM (10 1/4 IN.) - 33 CM (13 IN.)
