Description
SET OF NINE SMALL RUSSIAN SPOONS from different series, in 875/1000 silver; the spoon bowls are decorated with leafy arabesques, small flowers in polychrome cloisonné enamel on a gilded amati background, framed on either side by bands of turquoise-enamelled beads. The inside of the spoon bowls is vermeil. The rod-shaped handles, partly twisted, are finished with a spindle. “84 zolotnik” hallmarks from Moscow and Saint Petersburg, combined with different silversmith’s marks on all pieces. One spoon bears the “88” hallmark associated with the silversmith “Gubarin”. Russia, Moscow and Saint Petersburg, late 19th century. A SET OF NINE SILVER ENAMELLED SPOONS, RUSSIA, LATE 19TH CENTURY. LENGTH: 10.5 CM (4 1/8 IN.) and 13 CM (5 1/8 IN.)
