Description
"LORD BYRON IN SPAIN" CLOCK in gilded and blackened bronze, depicting the poet seated on a naturalistic base alongside a fragment of classical architecture inscribed with the title of the narrative poem "Childe Harold", clad in a cloak and wearing a wide-brimmed hat with feathers, holding a stylus, his gaze fixed on the horizon. Classical base decorated with acanthus leaves. Silver-plated bronze dial with black Roman numerals. (Two feathers detached from the hat). France, c. 1840.
