Anastas Procházka (1882–1945) began his artistic career in Prague in 1902. A keen traveller throughout Europe, he spent a long time in Paris, where he developed a passion for the Fauves, the Expressionists and Van Gogh. It was, however, Cubism that had the most decisive influence on him. He exhibited at numerous exhibitions, both in his own country and in France.
