10. † Ornellaia, 1998 (2 x 750ml) Ornellaia, 2001 (2 x 750ml) Ornellaia, 'L'Eleganza', 2013 (2 x 750ml) A vertical collection of 6 x 750 ml Ornellaia directly from the cellar, two bottles per vintage. Ornellaia 1998: a slightly wetter winter followed by a dry, sunny summer created ideal conditions, leading to perfectly ripened grapes harvested in excellent condition. Very classic, with refreshing vibrancy on the palate and creamy, silky, condensed tannins. The wine offers a great balance and a sophisticated aftertaste. Ornellaia 2001: a mild, rainy winter and balanced summer allowed uniform grape development and a well-timed harvest under ideal late-season conditions. The ripe red and black fruit and the balance between the personalities of the grapes define a prestigious wine with a long finish and timeless elegance. Ornellaia 2013: a late budding and flowering, and a warm summer and the month of September offering textbook conditions for harvesting, resulted in slow but complete ripening with great balance and a delightful aromatic quality, which we like to define as "Elegance". Ornellaia will be delighted to host the winning bidder for a private visit to the estate, for two guests. The date of the visit will be mutually agreed between the buyer and Ornellaia.
