Tchokwé seats played a central role in expressing power and hierarchy. This chair, supported by two sculpted figures, was the prerogative of chiefs, dignitaries and initiates. Used for audiences, councils and ceremonies, it served as a visible symbol of authority and a link between temporal power and spiritual forces.
