Seated dignitary This statue depicts a young dignitary seated on a circular, single-legged stool. The movement of his arms, which are slightly bent, and his forward-leaning shoulders lend the figure a dynamic presence. The youthful face, radiating vigour and concentration, bears concentric scarifications on the forehead and temples, adding a touch of character. The headdress, composed of small, finely carved buns, reinforces the ritual dimension of the work. The bracelets and torque emphasise the figure’s rank and importance.
