WORLD EXHIBITION, PARIS, 1889 GUSTAVE EIFFEL (1832–1923) – STEP FROM ONE OF THE STAIRCASES OF THE EIFFEL TOWER Puddled and riveted iron, rectangular in shape. Height: 21.5 cm; Length: 64 cm. Shows signs of wear. This component comes from the spiral staircase that connected the second and third floors of the Eiffel Tower. PROVENANCE. Purchased at the auction on 1 December 1983.
