A finely chiselled and gilded bronze portico clock, decorated with a scene depicting the coronation of Virtue. The allegory of Wisdom crowns a young girl kneeling before her. The dial is housed within the portico, which is supported by Doric columns. The arched pediment is adorned with applied florets. The white enamelled dial is bordered by frieze motifs such as gadroons and foliage. The rectangular base is richly decorated with an antique-style bas-relief framed by musical Cupids. The moulding and front legs are decorated with drooping acanthus leaves. Suspended by a wire. Restoration period.
