Description
A PAIR of baluster-shaped vases with midnight-blue glass. Gilded, chiselled bronze mountings with square pedestals featuring recessed corners. The handles, in a double coil design, curve down over the shoulder of the vase amidst a decoration of acanthus leaves and drapery. Louis XVI period. (One handle is damaged and requires restoration (part still present); wear to the gilding) Height: 24 cm. NB: Glassware comparable to Bordeaux productions from the last third of the 18th century (notably the Boyer Manufactory).
