A veneered wood chest of drawers with three drawers without crossbars, set against a crossbow-shaped front. The top drawer is fringed with a bronze frieze decorated with flowers and interlacing patterns. The two lower drawers are inlaid with four-petalled motifs within interlaced circles, framed by a bronze moulding. The sides are inlaid with a scroll pattern. Beautiful bronze ornamentation, including drop-down handles in the form of laurel wreaths, lamp-shade finials, ram’s-head finials and lion’s-paw feet. Rounded, fluted front legs ending in a curved base with bronze edging. Thick top of veined grey marble. Piece in the Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional style, in the manner of the work of Jean Henri RIESENER (1734–1806).
