Description
François LINKE (1855–1946) A rare chiselled and gilded bronze clock depicting a child warrior wearing a feathered helmet and holding an arrow. He is seated upon clouds from which emerges a gilded metal celestial sphere adorned with stars. It displays the hours in Roman numerals. The pedestal has a violet brocatelle marble moulding, encircled by a band of acanthus leaves. Four feet decorated with acanthus leaves. Signed ‘F. Linke’ on the side. (The bow, the numerals II and V, and some stars are missing) Height: 41 cm – Width: 34 cm – Depth: 20 cm.
