Description
A set of four Chariton hoods with appliqué embroidery, second half of the 19th century,
one in cream felt decorated with an angel subduing a monstrous fish. The other three feature the same motifs: cherubs carrying the Blessed Sacrament, a Virgin of the Assumption and a Virgin and Child, embroidered in appliqué using silks and brocades, with painted skin tones. Lined in bougran, with beautiful gold trimmings throughout (some wear), height approx. 97 cm.
