A fine album of silk fabric samples for dresses, held in the Tassinari & Chatel archives, Lyon, circa 1790–1800,
silk fabrics mounted on the pages of an account book belonging to a Lyon-based merchant or a manufacturer, C. Pernon (?). Lampas with floral motifs, including scattered patterns, numerous plain-striped Pekin silks, taffeta and marbled satin with branch motifs, a drapery border and marbled velvet braids, a stag hunt and the Chariot of Venus, a pocket flap decorated with a stag hunt motif in chiselled velvet.
Approximately 500 samples mounted on laid paper, vellum cover (some wear to the binding), 4.5 x 4.5 cm to 24 x 28 cm
